The Saltwater Society crew was beyond stoked to be a part of the legendary Da Hui Backdoor Shootout 2025, in memory of the Duke—an event that continues to celebrate the roots of Hawaiian surf culture and real-deal wave riding at one of the heaviest breaks on the planet.
This year’s event was all-time. Waves were absolutely firing, and the energy on the beach was unmatched. There’s just something about Pipeline in January that brings the entire surf community together. We’re honored to support an event that’s built on respect, tradition, and straight-up aloha.
One of the biggest highlights for us? Watching our own team rider, Trevor Lakos, throw down in the Stand Up Paddle (SUP) division. Trevor brought power and style to the wave he paddled into, repping Saltwater Society with pride. Watching him charge at Pipe was unreal—we couldn’t be prouder.
Huge mahalo to Mahina, the Da Hui Ohana, and everyone involved in keeping this event as core and soulful as it gets. Your hospitality, energy, and love for the culture are what make this contest so special. We’re humbled and hyped to stand alongside the Ohana and all the incredible athletes who made this year unforgettable.
Until next year—mahalo nui loa!
